Move #7  Brush Knee

Start Posture Description

All weight is on the right foot. Both legs are straight. The ball of left foot touches to the front lightly for balance at about 8" to 10" ahead. 

Both arms are round. 

  • Right palm is angled up to the forehead facing out, fingertips to the centerline. 
  • Left palm is pressing down in front of waist, fingertips to the centerline.

Step by Step Instruction

Turn the right palm to face the back and slowly let the right arm down. Sink down to the right foot, turning the torso to the right front corner.  Bring the left hand up to shoulder height - palm facing forward. Right arm opens to the back right corner, palm up.  

Step with the left foot. 

Rise up to the top of the head from the right foot, both legs straight. Relax the elbows.  The right palm turns to face forward.  The left palm turns to face down.

Sink down into the left foot.  Press the right palm forward to the shoulder height, thumb lines up to the center of the body. Left palm presses down above the left knee, fingertips towards the center.

Square the hips to the left foot keeping the right leg straight

End Posture  Description

Most of the weight is on the left foot. Right leg is straight and both feet are flat on the floor. The shoulders and hips are squared to the left foot.

  • Left arm is round with palm down above the left knee.
  • Right palm presses forward to shoulder height with the thumb lined up to the center of the body. Elbow towards the floor.
